in 1987 Herbie Hancock "stealed" the Oscar from Ennio Morricone for the best soundtrack. I love Herbie Hancock and I love Jazz and.. I know it wasn't Hancock's fault but... that year Ennio Morricone probably composed one of the most beautiful soundtracks in the history of cinema: "The Mission". Hancock won the Oscar for music that he hadn't even written but .. only performed. It was literally a steal. Morricone deserved that Oscar.
